Felipe González became Europe's youngest Head of Government at age 40 in 1982. Behind his astute leadership skills and political acumen, Gonzalez was elected to an unprecedented four consecutive terms as Prime Minister of Spain. He has been awarded numerous national and international prizes, among them the Charlemagne Prize, the Necklace of the Order of Isabel the Catholic and the Great Cross of Gold from the Republic of Austria.
