Ann Daniels is the first woman in history, along with expedition teammate Caroline Hamilton, to reach the North and South Poles as part of all women teams. She has led expeditions in the most hostile environments on earth, where strong leadership and teamwork are essential to achieve results.

In the year 2000, she walked from the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole and in 2002 from Canada to the North Geographic Pole to become the first all women's team in the world to manhaul to both the North and South poles. A proud representative of the Special Olympics, Ann has also been a baton holder for the Commonwealth Games. Mother of four, she is a recipient of the prestigious Pride of Britain Award. Setting out in 2009, the first Catlin Arctic Survey undertook a 100 day, 1000km crossing of the ice cap in temperatures as low as minus 50ºC. The survey set off from Alaska, walking, skiing and on occasions swimming stretches of open water to reach the North Geographic Pole.
