Eddie Jordan OBE

Eddie Jordan is a former racing driver, founder and team owner of Jordan Grand Prix and entrepreneur. Some of the most successful drivers such as Michael Schumacher, Hill and Senna owe their breaks to Eddie as a champion of young talent. Inspired by their success, Eddie established Jordan Grand Prix in 1990 and entered Formula 1. In 2005 he sold the company and since then he has developed a portfolio of business interests and presents the BBC's coverage of Formula 1. Eddie is also a patron of CLIC Sargent, the UK's leading children's cancer charity and the Amber Foundation. In addition, he was on the board of the Special Olympics when the event was held in Ireland.

Eddie holds honorary doctorates from the University of Ulster and Dublin's Institute of Technology. As well as being inducted into the Irish Motorsport Hall of Fame, Eddie has been awarded two prestigious awards to honour his outstanding contribution to motorsport: the James Joyce Award from the Literary and Historical Society of the University College Dublin and the Gold Medal of Honorary Patronage of the University Philosophical Society of Trinity College. In 2012, Eddie was awarded an honorary OBE in recognition of his services to charity and motor racing.
