Pedro Schwartz is Professor of Economics at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain. He is an expert on pensions, monetary policy, and European economics. He is a former member of the Spanish Parliament and is currently a Director of Foreign & Colonial Eurotrust Plc. He was made an honorary Officer of the British Empire by the Queen in 1990. He also contributes to several major Spanish newspapers including The Vanguardia and El Pais.

Pedro obtained his doctorate in law from the Complutense University in Madrid and is also a Doctor in Philosophy, Political Sciences and Master in Economy of The London School of Economics. In addition, he holds title of Professor having graduated in History of Economic Doctrines in 1960 from the University of Madrid.
